Renaming shared folders from the server

Hello,
I've trawled the boards but can't seem to find a solution. I want to rename the media folders I am accessing from my file server so that they look nicer on screen. By way of example, if I add a folder from the media center computer itself (e.g. Movies), it will display on screen as "Movies", but if I add a folder shared from another networked computer (I have a monster server downstairs) called "Movies", it displays on screen as "\\Server\Movies".

Can anyone provide a clue as to how I can stop the "\\Server\" part displaying, as I just want to see the name of the folder, *not* it's location.

Thanks for taking the time to read,

Mont

Re: Renaming shared folders from the server

From memory your only solution is to map a local drive to the share.

Re: Renaming shared folders from the server

Thanks for the information. Never "mapped" a drive before, but will give it a shot!

I appreciate very much the help (and speed of reply!)
