Channel quality issues MCE 2005

Hi, this is my first post here but I have been running HTPC's for about 18 months now.

My problem is this;

I recently down graded my HTPC (matter of necessity) from Vista Home, Dual core 6300 with 8800GTS and replaced these parts with;

MCE 2005, Sempron 3000+ and a ATI 2400pro (512ram) vga. The motherboard is a Foxconn Winfast Sli board.

I kept my 250gb sata HDD and other bits.

In MCE 2005 I firstly could not get it to detect my Fusion Lite tuner but finally got that sorted out and can actually scan and get live channels. Only thing is, some of the channels are really bad to watch, the stutter is unwatchable. Some channels are perfectly fine.

I had my old HTPC with dual core and GTS plugged into the same wall jack and had no issues so I am suspecting it is an issue with MCE 2005 or a hardware problem. From the above specs should they be good enought to play SD and HD tv? if so any ideas on the MCE 2005 side of things to get this sorted out.

I am using Nvidia mpeg 2 decoder not the standard Dvico ones.

Any help would be most welcome.

Re: Channel quality issues MCE 2005

Yer sounds like the MPEG2 decoder. PowerDVD worked much better for me...
