Hello all, im new so i guess you can call me a newbie.
Heres the situation, I used to live in Sydney west, i had good picture for my WinFast DTV1000S, with the aerial on the roof, now I have moved out more west, Penrith area.
There is no aerial socket in my room so i bought a rabbit ears digital aerial with a booster of some sort.. now it still wont find a channel, and the pictures arn't too crash hot in the rest of the house too.. do i have to pay someone to run a cable to my room from the roof antenna or is there something i can do in the settings to change the channel frequency or something??
I dont want to run any cables tho cause im renting, is there an indoor mega antenna or something??
I've got the same tuner card, i'm running a set of rabbit ear's without a booster, but i'm only 8 keys from the main towers in brisbane and have ever channel with out issue.
Are you far from the transmittion towers???

well, the towers are in kings cross in sydney im assuming.. im in penrith which is near the blue mountains.. which is roughly 50-60km drive... straight down the m4. so im pretty far, and its in the hills kinda too.. id rather not get a cable from the roof.. its a double story and im in the bottom corner.. there is an aerial socket on the other side of my wall.. im not going to drill holes etcetc... is there a thing where i can plug on the other side and it sends it via wireless to my room.. i got 2.4ghz wireless internet so i dont want to interfear with itttttt..
also just wondering is there a way to get tv frequencys or signals via the internet... like use my internet cable or something as an aerial... ????
Yes but there are laws against actually doing it here, If it's merely on the other side of the wall I'd put another socket and a splitter in. Mind you I'd also ask the rental mob nicely first.

so there is a way.. how so... what about my wireless internet as a antenna.. i mean it can't be illegal cause its my network.. i got a pci wireless network card.. sorry im a noob
No it's illegal, as an exercise we used some power lines as an antenna for some radio reception we wanted to play with but there are even more rules against that, and for good reason 11kV lines aren't forgiving. And Austel regs will slow you down for relaying a signal any other way as well, there are fines for non compliance that you wouldn't like and if I told you how I'd get far worse so I'm not going to.
I'd be inclined to test with a small amplifier from the current TV socket in a set of rabbit ears that side and see if the rabbit ears or other indoor antenna will pick it up better then. One big hint however is if your external antenna is horizontal make the internal one vertical as that reduces the amount of crossed up signals you'll get.
Other than that you'll really need to set up something to record from one side of the wall and use the wireless to relay it all.
ok, lets just forget about this indoor antenna stuff
lets go to wireless tv signals.. there's a wall socket not far from my room.. is there like a sender i can plug into the socket in the other room and send the signals to a reciever to my room.. im not talking av, im talking coaxial. if there is none. is there like a coaxial converter to av, send it to my room, then convert it back to coaxial... honestly if its to much trouble ill just live without tv.

Like I sort of said in the post, not without using some sort of retuning system. Ie a media center or linux machine you can remote control would have to go in the socket, the only transmitters around require AV in so you'd need some kind of box at the socket......
You could get maybe a set top box and retransmit that as some AV transmitters will relay remote control signals back to the STB. What material is the wall made out of? If it's only plasterboard I'd seriously just piggy back the antenna myself.
