Question Dont really have an idea

Hey

I am very new to this forum as you might be aware. Although that everyone has upgraded to vista, I am a little bit behind the 8 ball in getting my media center up and running. Anyway, I have a few problems with my current setup (basically does not work). Here are some of the details of my gear in the computer.

Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2
2.40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Duo
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P5GC-MX Rev x.xx
ATI Function Driver for High Definition Audio - ATI AA01
FusionHDTV USB, AVStream Capture (DVBT-DUAL) (2x)
Realtek High Definition Audio

I am currently running FusionHDTV as my method of playing TV on my screen. When I go into media centre and try and set the TV up, it picks up about 40 channels but when going to watch it, there is no signal. I am not sure why this is the case and you might be able to help me out if you know why?

I also have a problem that when I open up my media folder, it crashes as well. There is a lot of stuff in there so I am thinking that the computer cant read everything.

I would like to work out how to run the TV through the media centre because apparently is is really good doing it this way. The girls that I live with need something relatively easy to use as well. The problem with the FusionHDTV software that I am using is that it keeps crashing when i change channels. I then have to reboot the program.

Well, any help is greatly appreciated as I dont really know what is going on.

Re: Dont really have an idea

Hi doolz23,

MCE generally does not like to share its Tv systems with propriety programs such as Fusion HDTV so the first thing I would do is remove the program, preferably image back to the system before you installed the program, if you have images that is. Then ensure you have an aceptable decoder such a PowerDVD etc (do a search you should find how the check and set the decoder using the XP decoder checking program available in the download section, set the preferred decoder and try again.

Craig.

Re: Dont really have an idea

Thanks for the info.

I will try it onight and see how it goes.

I assume that I keep all the drivers and just uninstall the FusionHDTV program. See how that goes.
