Artist display is incorrect

Hi,

Im using a new install of media center 2005. I bought 2005, but if i right-click my computer, goto properties, it states xp 2002? oh well?

Anyway, my problem is the way it lists artists. I have installed the MS rollup, and WMP11. (none of which showed up in microsoft update?! - i had to figure out that they existed on my own!)

In WMP 11, goto artist view and it shows the 5 cds i have ripped using WMP11.

In MCE, goto artist view, and its displaying many different artists that ive no idea who they are. I ripped using WMP11 and ripped to WMA format. THe album view displays the correct 5 albums, so i know that its pointing to the correct folder.

I own all the CDs i ripped.

Why does it display other artists? Ive been into the setup and its pointing to the correct music folder.

It must be picking up artists that contributed on a track or somthing like that. It is making the artist view screen completly pointless!

As i have only installed 5 different cds, i should see only 5 different artists, as i do in WMP11.

Anyone got a solution?

Open up WMP11, right click on a song and choose 'Advanced Tag Editor'. You'll have to edit the info their to however you want it.

And if you go to the Settings menu in MCE, General, About, and software version, you might see that it says 2005.
