WMP problem - finding but NOT ADDING audio files to library?
Hi,
Problem is this – tried to add some new albums to my library a few weeks ago – WMP FOUND THEM (so when the scan ran I saw it find them – but didn't add them to the library!)
I ran the WMP library wipe (%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player – and delete any .wmd files found) – and so wiped my entire library to start with a clean slate, as this has worked in the past – but NOW it finds my entire library but won't add a single thing!!!!!
I have tried:
- tried to rollback to WMP10 – alas the updated MCE2005 I'm on says this isn't allowed.
- WMP11 is fully up to date and on a legit copy of MCE2005
- have triple checked all the tagging on my albums – though I think the initial problem MAY have been caused by a few of the 'Album Artist' fields being not filled out properly
- have uninstalled and reinstalled WMP11
The only other thing I can think of is starting a new user profile and transfering my core settings across – but thats a major pain in the ass and prefer not to load up the registry with crap by doing that kinda thing.
Anyone have any ideas?
I really wish MCE2005's core interface would work with another media player as WMP is a pain at times.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
PS Have also just yesterday wiped library again - removed all my audio files from MY MUSIC folder and moved to another new location and tried to see if they'd work from there - same thing - it finds them all fine - but doesn't add any of them.
SP3 not installed.....
Am pretty much out of ideas....
