copy protection and mce 2005

Hi all,

recently my wife has been on a Buffy/Angel video marathon. She hires each series and watches them back to back over a few days.

The problem is the disks wont play in my media centre (nor on any of my desktop computers).

I have tried
- cleaning them
- using them in the xbox
- other programs windows media, powerDVD, VLC
- using anydvd

I have also tried to copy them to disk using various techniques (which I wont go into) and while I have had some success they were still pretty much unwatchable.

In the end she had to use the portable in-car DVD player which works fine.

Most annoying as I have done the right thing by hiring the disks and am getting screwed

So apart from buying a dedicated DVD player, anyone got any tips on how to overcome this.

edit: WAF dropping fast

Re: copy protection and mce 2005

Most likely because of the unusual structure of the disk.
I would try Anydvd Ripper.
