Changing the default mouse controls

I have an old MCE2005 machine that I drive by touch screen - it lets SWMBO watch her recorded TV while on the exercise equipment.

Anyway, being a touch screen, driving it is like using the mouse, so when you touch the screen the mouse control panel appears at the bottom of the screen.

For music, the "skip" buttons appear to move forward as below:

but for videos there are no "skip" buttons, the fast forward/reverse buttons appear instead:

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the default buttons for video to skip rather than Fast Forward/Reverse and how to do this? The skip buttons are more useful when getting through ads.

Re: Changing the default mouse controls

I'm guessing either no-one understood what I was on about, or no-one knows how this can be done.

Ah well, it was worth asking the question...

Re: Changing the default mouse controls

OK, you have asked for it

How about upgrading it to Vista?

Re: Changing the default mouse controls

Two reasons:

1. I didn't want to spend any money on this rig (it hasn't cost me a cent yet).

2. I had the XPMCE licence lying around since I upgraded the main rig to Vista.

Re: Changing the default mouse controls

But you agree that it will fix your problem?

Re: Changing the default mouse controls

Yes, it will give me the skip buttons on videos.

There is a third reason - I don't think Vista will run too well on a PIII-800.
