I work with laptops, sounds like your HDD is stuffed/on its way out. Try running a dos based hdd tool (seatools) to test disk integrity

Re: My MCE stop's at Windows Xp logo - HELP!

Hey there

Most laptops have a utility in the bios to check the hdd if you struggle with simbots suggestion.

Also could be a MBR issue - can you boot a start up disk? If so in a dos window you could try fix/mbr

Hope you got nice back ups for all your data though just in case

J

hey guys... thanks for replying ...

unfortunatly i couldnt access to bios setup .. actuly i dont know how to find it in Qosmio laptops :\ ...

but i dont think that its a hard disk prob. ... i think its a windows update prob. specially it occures after windows update ...

im thinking to use some programs like tuneup .. to uninstall the latest updates ... is that wrong?

i have a backup for my files .. but i should solve this problem cuz its the 2nd time happen's with me ...

Hi Mehia,

Just wondering how you ended up getting on with this problem, I have the same notebook and the same thing happened to me only 3 days ago, only difference i can tell is my screen also has vertical lines in it now too!

Cheers,

Re: My MCE stop's at Windows Xp logo - HELP!

Boot to safe mode (F8 between the BIOS screen & the Windows boot screen) & uninstall the latest Windows updates.

Once you boot up OK, you could then try installing the updates one at a time.

I used to see this heaps last year - it was usally laptops & happened when multiple updates were applied at the same time.
