dual hybrid tuner but MCE wants either Analog or Digital signal
Hi all,
I have finally got my hand on this box and going through the set up of the tuner card (S2 hybrid from digitalNow) the tuner setup step in MCE wants me to choose either the analog signal or the digital signal.
i though that being a hybrid tuner with 2 tuners I could have access to both digital channels as well as analog channels???
Am I missing something? Can any one shed some more light on this as I am very confused
Re: dual hybrid tuner but MCE wants either Analog or Digital signal
so when I did a search and found heaps of links and pages about the multi tuner hack in MCE. this is what they are refeering to?
I though the hack was supposed to enable you to put in multiple physical tuner cards (which I dont need) if I can use both the digital and analog side of my dual card, I think that would do me.

Thank you dgaust.
I feel like buying you a beer (are you in sydney CBD) as every question I have, you are right there with answers and advice. I would be lost with all this if it was not for the kind people in this site. I am glad I joined it a while back.

No worries, glad I could point you in the right direction.
I've got the exact same card as you sitting on my desk infront of me (delivered this morning).
I'm planning on installing it tonight alongside my other DNTV card (I've found two tuners just isn't enough) so was looking at the guide earlier in case I wanted to use the analogue inputs.

This might be in 4-5 months. I thought having 2 tuners would be enough as it gives the minister for everything the ability to watch one and record another.
Let us how you go with the DN card. Did you buy the hybrid as well?
Re: dual hybrid tuner but MCE wants either Analog or Digital signal
With the broadcasters continually running over time it means you have to add about 15 minutes padding to the end of a recording. So if you want to have back to back recordings they overlap utilising both tuners.
This has caused an issue on occassion when trying to watch a show that I actually don't want to record, and the tuners are all used, so I had to pick up another dual card.
I have the DNTV low profile dual tuner at the moment which is great and was going to wait for the second batch to arrive before I bought a second tuner, but when they were delayed again I decided to pick up the S2 (I might also want to use Austar in the future so a hybrid is good).
I was a little hesitant at first because of a known issue of the card dropping out of the device manager when resuming from standby, but it's only a small number of people affected and DigitalNow have excellent service, and a good returns policy so it's no risk.
edit: There were new drivers for the S2 cards released yesterday and are available from the DigitalNow website. I wonder what they fix?
