Film like TV

I noticed this all the time, however with the MS decoder it works perfectly sports and all. Anyone know why all of the MCE05 decoders have the framerate of a film?
Any suggestions on how to change this?
Thanks

Re: Film like TV

I've noticed this too since my last rebuild over the longweekend. It may be my graphics drivers (nvidia forceware) which I upgraded to lastest MCE version (93.71) since it is happening on all decoders I've tried (PureVideo, PowerDVD7, WinDVD7, WinDVD8).

I will try reverting to previous drivers (91.47) when I get the chance (24 is back on, so not much time to have the TV down!)

I read somewhere that with lastest nVidia drivers + PureVideo, set PurVideo to "Automatic" de-interlacing rather than "Smart". I tried that, didn't seem to work (although my testing was not very thorough).

Re: Film like TV

Hi Gruelius,
I resolved my issue by replacing my GF6600 with an FX5200. See this thread

Cheers,

Re: Film like TV

I think its because the media isnt being flagged properly someone suggested. Im not going to change the card because in Vista with the MS decoder TV Feeds are flagged properly and are shown at proper frame rates.

I dont own vista tho and the wmp11 integration sucks so im going to have to go back to MCE which isnt that bad considering most things work, i just need that feature back.

TV is flagged correctly in Vista MCE ?!?!?!!?

i have to see this, runs away to install vista!!

is the MS decoder using hardware acceleration? do you have any options set in the nvidia drivers (ie. inverse telecine)?

Re: Film like TV

well i just formatted not even knowing ms had a decoder.

Anyway i was just fiddling with MCE and hit TV accidentally and figured it would halt because of no decoder then BAM HD Goodness. I dont know bout dxva but it recorded 2 simeltaneous HD feeds with no issues

I really want to get 2k5 to flag tv properly so i dotn have to worry anymore.

Re: Film like TV

when the decoders are in use (ie. watching TV/DVD) there will be a nvidia icon in the system tray, open it, there you'll find all the decoder settings.

Re: Film like TV

Install VNC, its alot more dirty however if you are running it over a network should be no issues at all.

Would let you controll the actual session.

Has anyone had success/can confirm that purevideoworks with a proper framerate e.t.c.? This is just really ****ting me.

Re: Film like TV

I have it working fine, i reformatted and installed a newer version of purevideo (.223 instead of .197) and now all the HD channels are perfect... purevideo settings on auto instead of smart.. haven't tried it back on smart yet tho.
