MCE freezes when attempting to watch video....

Hello, Just setup my computer last night and was trying to run video / tv through the PC, but whenever i choose to watch video or tv, the computer just hangs with the screen with the "busy" circle and nothing happens. I can watch the tv with the program provided and i can watch DVD with powerDVD. So, I am not sure what's going on. Thanks

My system:
Asus A8v Deluxe
Cosair 1gb RAmm
AMD 64 3500+
seagate 320gb SATA HDD
Avermedia A777 x 2
Geforce 2 titanium
Audigy 2 ZS

Thanks in advance

Gidday adamk_47,
We need more info..Its always handy to fill out your system specs in user profile.

What decoders are you using for MCE.?
You can check this out by using m$ Deccheck utility: Download details: Windows XP Video Decoder Checkup Utility.

That will be a good starting point.
Regards Blackjet

Re: MCE freezes when attempting to watch video....

I'm having similar issues.

I'm using the Power DVD 7 MPEG-2 decoder.

I have a FusionHDTV-DVB-T Hybrid card.

When I view TV using the Fusion software, all is well.
When I run TV within MCE it just says 'Stopped' ...then there is a resume button, but when I click that it just stops again

Sometimes I wish MCE would just burn in hell

Re: MCE freezes when attempting to watch video....

gidday again..
Try installing intervideo windvd7.
You have simuliar specs to mine..
I use an older version of Intervideo Win dvd7, than the current ones .But give there new trial ago anyway.. InterVideo, Inc. Download I hope this works for you..
regards Blackjet

P.s use Deccheck utility to set the decoder preferences
