pressing guide button says no guide

Hi

I have just setup a mce 2005 box, I have guide data, can do recordings for single shows and series etc.. and twice I have had the following error.

Whilst watching Live TV I press the guide button and a windows pops up and says no channels (I Think) and suggests I do a scan, so I go and do a scan and then it finds nothing, if I reboot it is all working as expected.

I have all the latest upgrades, is this a known problem or something I can look at to try and discover the problem.

thanks
Matt

Re: pressing guide button says no guide

now this is where I am confused, I assumed it has nothing to do with guide data, as before this error, it had data for another 4 days, and even when it does not have data it still shows you the channels etc..

When I press the guide button I get a popup saying no channels ot no guide for channels and it tries to do a recan ???

thanks
Matt

Re: pressing guide button says no guide

Try this

- delete all channels then setup TV listings
- Say yes to wish to use gudie and configure it there and then (postcode, inject data etc)
- now scan channels
- then add listings to channels and change channel order and your done

Matt

I have the exact same problem. I actually suggested a possible solution in the forum thread that blackjet eluded to earlier here.

1. I re-run the EPGRunner client (MCE GUI not running).
2. Go back into MCE GUI
3. Redo the setup for the EPG (actually this may not be necessary I haven't done it without this step as yet)
4. 0000 for your postcode etc etc
5. Let it rescan for channels and Bobs your Aunty it's all back.

Now I don't use MCE for FTA channels only Foxtel Digital but I would assume it would work regardless. I have had to do this a couple of times over the last couple of weeks and it has fixed it both times.

I hope that helps.
