I've posted this on the Webguide forums but haven't had any replies - hopefully someone here may have some ideas as to what's going on:

To summarise, any files that are batch transcoded will not play all the way to the end of the file. Most of the time it fails about 6-8 minutes before the end of the file, although I had one yesterday that failed 45 mins into an hour recording.
Live-tv transcoding does not have this problem, although due to the older Athlon it struggles to even output at 100kbps.
Does anyone else use batch transcoding on XP MCE? Or is it time I pulled the pin and upgraded this machine? It's served me so well, we've gone through standby issues, spdif issues...(which are all working perfectly now) - I'd miss the old girl.
MCEbuddy is working really well, maybe if it had a web-interface similar to Webguide... or... maybe hmm.. (brain ticking over), I could use that to encode, and then just have Webguide to access it.
