Standby/MST

I've just recently installed the MST plug in for my mc and it works well, but going through the settings i have a message on the idle tab that says the machine is unable to differentiate between user tasks or scheduled tasks and therefore standby after recording or guide update is unavailable. is there a way to fix this ?.
The other problem I'm having is after every resume i have to login again. I've checked the box in power management but something keeps resetting it to ask for login. can someone please help as this is affecting WAF somewhat

Re: Standby/MST

Often, thats the case if you have it set to 'hibernate' rather than standby.

Re: Standby/MST

Cheers for the reply, the mc is definitely set to standby and not hibernate (hibernate unchecked in settings) but i still have to login in on resume which is a major P.i.t.a. as i then have to get the mouse which is not all that user friendly. Mce keyboard will help but i should be able to resume and get straight in to media centre without logging in.
i have unchecked all boxes i can see which involve requesting a password to resume and have autologon set in both MST and also tweakui
any ideas ?.

Try this, goto control panel -> power options -> advanced tab, and untick "prompt for password when computer resumes from standby"

Re: Standby/MST

Thanks but that is the issue i untick the box, then something is resetting it every time i go to standby.
is it possible there is a registry key involved that's been corrupted or something ?

Re: Standby/MST

It sound like some application keeps changing the password prompt option, possibly MST.

As for the "he machine is unable to differentiate between user tasks or scheduled tasks" problem, I think it explains in the app that using S4 Hibernate that it is the reason why it can't differentiate, and S3 should be able to differentiate between the two.

Re: Standby/MST

cheers for the reply. i have autologon checked in MST with username etc as i had it when i set things up but still no joy.The only thing i've had to do since initial config is reinstall video drivers so i cant see that cocking the show up. The message has disappeared that said "he machine is unable to differentiate between user tasks or scheduled tasks" so it must have sorted itself out. This is driving me crazy, i've ironed out most of the bugs in the system but this one i cant work out .

Re: Standby/MST

yes the only issue seems to be on resume from standby. after i logon i am also getting an error msg about vid card or drivers not compatible with mce, but if i close media centre and restart it its fine.
The biggest problem with all of this is it seems very random. sometimes it works other times it does
