running snes/nes/mame games.

I have searched the site and all around the net but havent found exactly what i have been looking for .

i have in my living room an htpc computer with the xp media center 2005 edition running and using the microsoft media center application . because i use this computer more for entertainment only i want it to be able to run games . such as nes / snes / mame .

i'm looking for some kind of plugin that will add himself to the xp media center application and will create a sepperate sub-menu that will luch games.
i already have wireless gamepads so the only thing that i need is that plugin .

i found something that is called gamex but it is a stand alone application and not an add on to the existing media center application .

anyone have any idea how to do that ?

thank you .
i will appreciate if you can send reply's also to my mail : darkverve@gmail.com

Re: running snes/nes/mame games.

I wholeheartedly recommend GameEx. It's a frontend that has been developed with platforms such as MCE and Arcade Cabinets in mind. You can use it as a platform to launch any number of emulators, and it's not too difficult to set up. It even supports box art, cartridge art, game manuals and screenshots, so you can have just as much fun browsing games and remembering the history as you can playing them (well, maybe not...).

Re: running snes/nes/mame games.

Sorry for the late reply , wasnt around .
What i want to know is : is it possible to launch the gamex from the mce application , i dont want to close the mce then use the mouse to click on start or any other combination .

this computer has only one king of input and that is my mce remote .

in case i find a way to run mame/nes files than i will plug in my wireless gamepads .

so in conclussion is there a way to lunch gamex from mc 2005 application and when i close gamex it will return to the mce application automaticly ?

Re: running snes/nes/mame games.

Id suggest adding a shortcut into the 'More Programs' section of MCE. Just put the shortcut in Start Menu -> Programs -> Accessories -> Media Center -> Media Center Programs and it will show up.
