New WebGuide 4.107 beta is out!

A great update to a great product...it's finally bringing MCE (and X360 extender) closer to what it should be.

In short:

- Stream Recorded TV/Videos/DVD's to X360 (and other extenders whatever they are..) from within the MCE interface
- Link multiple MCE's into the one interface

Re: New WebGuide 4.107 beta is out!

yes Ive been using this for the last week Its taken me about all that to get external access/streaming working (portforwarding and DNS newbie) but its now sorted, with gracious thanks to a Phil and Innie from here

Can be used with windows mobile devices, and vista version even has vista mc remote control functionality on pdas

This also has a sidebar gadget The guide is free but if you want to do the rest of the stuff, you'd eventually need to pay a one off license which is about $22AUD (great price!) im still on the 30 day full featured trial.

nb. for external access. only users with an adsl2 or better connection are best suited to video/live TV streaming... music streaming works ok with standard adsl.

great proggie. Nice interface too

Re: New WebGuide 4.107 beta is out!

I downloaded and installed.... LOVED IT.

I'm looking to purchase it before the demo expires...

The ability to set recordings remotly is so good, sometimes I use it just because the kids are watching tv, sometimes just to have access to a keyboard so I can type a full title for the recording.

That said..... I have one small problem I was hoping you guys would help me with.

I built a 64bit Ubuntu server for my media archive, and although I have no trouble accessing it with MCE with samba (using //servernme/share), I can't seem to get the 'impersonate = "true"' thing working for remote shares in webguide4.
Is their a work around?

(Should I map the drives? Will that work?)

Re: New WebGuide 4.107 beta is out!

sleeper, I'd recommened you best get on the WG forums and ask the man himself(Doug B). Anything I would suggest woudl merely be a guess in this instance - my server is now vista x64 based mce rig. Why x64... no its not an e-penis thing.... I just got a copy for free thats all...Im sure the same is achievable on x86 vista or XP! (or ubuntu lolz!)

Im *loving* the ability to access the guide remotely. My partner used to drive me nuts...I'd be out at a friends or work do and she'd call or text me... "please record <insert crappy girls show> for me" Of course being nowehere near home I wouldnt be able to do it. Now I can. Even if not at a workstation, I can quickly hop on my pda and do it... its just *great* they made it pda compliant.

For those interested, the guide access bit is free, and doesnt not require you to purchase the license. If you want to access your other files, there is a small one off fee(about $22AUD)

cheers
Astro

I installed it, used it, love it!

Registered it last week, can't wait to upgrade it. I too, love the PDA access.
