Reminder program/addon

Hey all
has anyone come across a program that marks programs to change channel too but not record?
Would be very handy and save from setting record all the time in case of memory lapce when watching tv

cheers

Personally I reckon you're better off to record just the same. I mean the effort to set it up is probably going to be similar and you can then start watching a little later and skip all the adverts. If you time it right you can probably finish watching it about the time it actually finishes anyway.

P.S. I think ShowShifter used to do exactly what you're talking about. I t would ask you if you wanted to change channels at the time you set.

Re: Reminder program/addon

I raised this in a thread a little while back. The idea didn't get much support but I'm with you, I think it would be a useful feature. Here's the thread if you're interested
http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...annel-cue.html
In fact the feature is already there just not in a form that is useful. I trying to remember the exact circumstance but if i remember correctly if you press guide button and then ! key ( More key) and select Program Info for the currently displayed program you will get an menu that offers the option to either Watch or Record. So the code is there, ijust not in the right place. It just needs to be placed in the guide menu level when you select a program not currently being displayed.

Re: Reminder program/addon

I had a look into this myself and I couldn't find this functionality in Vista, so I assume it's only in MCE2005.... Interesting though.... You'd think it would be that hard to add that functionality in the Guide if it's already in that information view.

Cheers - Scott
