I know there has been many threads about Xbox360 verus extender.
I won't go extender. I only want thoughts on spending the money on a second VMC or just basic 360 (arcade system if it will work). There are a few guy's out there that have the answers, i don't want pro's or con's just yes or no from how you feel?????

well a 360 really is an extender, just one that plays games as well.
Yes the arcade does work.
But playing divx over extender can be tricky requiring a upnp type transcoder (360 transcode, tvversity?) program on another pc (i think it has to be the mce pc, I havnt tried this yet). WMV and recorded tv are fine. WTV probably not yet
Pros for 360 - GAMES
cons not as versatile as a dedicated/secondary vmce, some resolutions are not supported, ms promise 1440x900 in November and 1650 x 1050, no mention of 1900x1200 though
cons of the VMCE, cannot interface with the other pc's mce interface, other than say win VNC , to schedule recordings, no live tv/guide functionality.
So in my POV the 360 rules if games are important, and the seemless interface to the mce pc, but not so good for divx content.
Want the best of both worlds? I think a 360 + a mediagate 350 or 450 for divx on the hdd or wired /wireless . Mediagate has 1 flaw - lack of h.264 support, but otherwise a great box for divx playback
