360 MCE doesn't play files

I have a whole bunch of movies on my PC, which are mainly in XVID format. I can play them on my PC with WMP and through the MCE on my PC. I can also play most of them through the video option on the media blade on the 360.

But when i try to use MCE through the 360 and connect succesfully to the PC, it doesn't play any of the media files. It says invalid codec, seem the 360 MCE is not picking up the codec I have downloaded.

Does anyone know of a reason why the MCE through 360 won't play movies? thanks.

The simple answer is "because it doesn't".
