xbox connection

hey all
i am having a problem when i am trying to connect to my media center. when i get the 8 digit code it displays on screen for about 3 seconds and then goes to a screen that says
Invalid connection data
information used to connect xbox 360 to windows xp media center is no longer valid. select reconnect for instructions on how to create a new connection.

so i do that and it just does the same thing over and over.

any ideas?
