Re: adding 4 x extenders
What are your PC specs? If you've got a recent dual core system, and the PC isn't doing anything too CPU intensive you should be okay. 2GB of RAM would be enough, but more won't hurt.
What type of content is going to be distributed to the clients? If everyone is streaming TV, then this could be a problem if everything is coming off one disk. Most of the time you won't notice a problem, but as soon as people start skipping, rewinding, ffwding etc, they will notice that the UI responsiveness will drop. Some people are much more sensitive to this than others, and you may never notice.
Any ability to split your ISO, AVI, MP3 files etc onto another disk(s) will keep things running smoothly. Remember that there is constant recording/buffering as you watch live TV, so a one disk solution is already looking pretty weak here.
One of the things you will notice very quickly, if the PC is struggling, that the initial extender connect time will shoot up drastically.
