Xbox Universal Remote Not Working

Just purchased a Xbox Elite (with falcon chip) - working beautifully. Also purchased separately a Xbox remote. This was working fine, but now I get no response from the Xbox at all when I try and use the remote. If I try and use the remote with the TV, it works, so there is no problem with sending infra red signals etc.

I've tried new batteries and removing the batteries and pushing each button twice (as per the instruction manual).

Still no response from the remote.

How do I re-synch or reconnect the remote to the Xbox?

Could the TV code have interferred with the way the remote speaks to the Xbox?

a few things to check

a) have you switched the remote to TV mode? (the TV button), because if so you have to switch it back to controll the 360.

b) the 360 has a setting which controlls what sort of remotes it responds too (see teh last blade in the dash)

I dn't know why none of the manuals cover this nor the official Xbox support page?
