Can you hook up an external usb hdd to the xbox 360 to download demo's from "live"?
Or do you have to have a genuine xbox360 hdd?
The price for 20G hdd for xbox360 is over $120 and seems absurd.

you can only hook up an external drive to play xvid/h264 etc from.

No demo downloads sadly.

there is a device that will let you take the demos off the hdd and transfer and manage on a desktop.

Worst thing is Sony actually tells you how to upgrade the PS3 drive in the manual
