50hz option in new arcade 360

G'day,
I bought a new arcade console today.
It gave me the option in set up to use Pal 50 or Pal 60
I can use pal 50 for media centre but the arcade game that came with the console would only work in pal 60.
Could this be the 50hz option finally delivered, or is it just a pal thing and nothing to do with 50hz or 60hz

In SD mode the console has always allowed PAL 50 or 60, though many games will force 60.

The question is, does it allow 50 hz in HD (720/1080).

Wink Re: 50hz option in new arcade 360

How quiet are the new Xbox 360 Arcade consoles? I have been thinking about the LinkSys DMA2200, but have been keeping an eye on the "Falcon-based" motherboards offered in the newer 360 consoles. I have an X360 Elite (zephr chipset) and it is pretty loud (less than the original pro console) even without running the jet engine DVD-ROM (why doesn't MS offer enhanced caching when running this thing!). I have been looking for a Media Center extender for the bedroom to replace the DVD player/Set-top box and wondered if the Arcades were good enough yet. Certainly operating sound + startup speed were my biggest issues to-date.

How's your opinion of the Arcade in the audible department? BTW, can you confirm the manufacture date (should be around the back near the serial number).

Any opinons would be valuable.

Thanks.
