Xbox Live!! I WANT OUT!

Ok so i wanted to play a game of forza 2 with my brother in law
he lives next door and we have a network between both houses (wired)
so anyways started up forza and tried a system link game, it says we have different versions... as he is on live and has done updates and i was not

So i signed up for Xbox Silver (free one month gold). launched forza 2 and it updated.
Now i cannot remove myself from xbox silver/gold without deleting my profile or starting a new one.... Im not interested in playing online, if i wanna play a online game such as COD4 or UT3 ill just use my computer as it doesnt cost money to play online..... is there a way to remove myself from "Live" and still keep my profile?

What kind of problems do you have with your profile now being a full xbox live account? Is it just that you want to revert to a local profile, or is there more to it?

I just want a local profile... there may be more too it... lets just say i dont wanna play online and i dont want M$ to know what i have been doing with my console...

Not much you can really do I think, just start a new profile and loose your achievment points

Worst case... you get banned from xbox live. So what???

Has anyone been banned here? I imagine that your console would still work offline. You just will never be able to go online.

Well i think im going to delete my Xbox Live profile and just start again....
I need to be on my network because i use extender if it wasnt for that i wouldnt even have the ethernet plugged in unless i was playing a systemlink...

EDIT: I think ill just set the IP up manually and not put in a DNS/gateway, if its like windows networking i will get local but not wan.
