Just bought myself an XBox360. First picked one up From JBHiFi for $495 (Pro +2 Free games, Forza2 & Viva Pinata) it was Build 0638 marked 203W Power supply, which potentially could have been a Falcom Motherboard (These are the ones with the 65nm CPU and are said to run cooler/quieter etc). Anyway was suspicious of the package as the game sticker was all crinkly and sticky tape was everywhere. Decided to return it unopened as I suspect it was a repackaged older unit. Saw BigW offering the package at $498 and was pleased to see they were 0742 builds dated 23/10/2007. The sticker said 203W power supply but on opening it I found a 175W power supply and this proves it is a Falcon .
So far it's been brilliant. I can hear it when on but it's no louder than my Media Center PC, the DVD drive also seems quiet with no obtrusive noises. It connected easily to my MCE box and the picture to my 76cm Panasonic CRT HDTV (The one that cannot use a 60Hz signal!!) is waaay better than using the component out on the MCE box. TV looks great as do DVD's. So far I'm pleased as punch, just want to setup transcode 360 so I can watch my divx files.

Do the latest update and you'll find the 360 now plays divx natively no need to transcode anymore.

Did the update, Divx files now play great from dash.
I seem to have a problem however accessing my media files from within the extender interface. All my media is stored on a Windows Home Server box. In the dash the files can be viewed and played no problem (they are shared on the WHS box). Using the MCE extender interface it can't find the files and asking it to add files does not give me the option to add files from the WHS PC only the MCE PC. Any ideas as to what I'm missing?

Yes I understand that but what I mean is that I don't seem to be able to access ANY of my media files from the Extender MCE interface. MP3's, MPG's, JPG's etc etc. It doesn't seem to see the WHS PC and says there are no music files in the library, won't show the WHS server to add its files to the library. Yet they all appear in the dash.
I must be missing something?

Just noticed that whilst I can see all my WHS avi files in the dash (still not in extender MC), for some reason it does not show my mpg videos??? What the heck's going on there?

have you set wmp 11 on MCE machine to share folders with WHS machine
Using WMP10, How do I set it to share folders? Also the files are not on the MCE PC they're on the server.

and then in turn set the MCE machine to allow extender to access these files??
How? As it is the Xbox can already see the files via the dash, just not through the XB MCE interface.
I copied my music to the shared music folder on the MCE PC and they now appear on the XBox MCE interface but this is not what I really wanted as I wanted all media on the WHS PC.

May have found the answer. It seems that on WHS the Guest account has to be enabled for Xbox360 to log in. The guest account then needs at least Read access. This sounds like it should work but you know what, I can't test it as My XBox has been wrapped up for Christmas...boo hoo. Can anyone here with WHS & Xbox 360 confirm the above. Cheers.
The thing I still find weird is that the files showed up previously in the dash but not in the extender interface.
Finally, Is it true that the Xbox can't play MPG files streamed from WHS? This FAQ seems to suggest this to be true
Looks like it will only stream Mpeg2 from an MCE box, What a load of MS C--P.

Excellent! Im looking at buying another 360 just after xmas!
Well mate, as you're in brisbane, can I suggest the Game shop in Toombul? I bought a 360 off them a couple of weeks ago, and it was a Lot 744, which they said is all they've got now (they'd just got a big shipment in)
Also, Big W carindale was reported on whirlpool to be selling lot 744, not sure if that's all they've got though.
