Low Vista MCE music volume on XB360

Hey all,

I just recently got my XB360 running as a MCE and have been having problems with the volume levels of my music library.

They are way too low and I have been franticly searching for a resolution since I have a house warming party later this week. Only think I can think of that might work would be to up the gain of my library using a proggy like MP3GAIN... the only downside being that it would take 2+ hrs to do so and would distort the audio

I read the Vista MCE FAQ and didn't come across the answer and was wondering if you guys could help me. I'm using the CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) for my codecs which installs FFDShow and Haali Splitter.

Any ides/tips?

Hi tonnyrat, please don't post the same question in two forums. This will just lead to confused replies as people omly see half the responses or you get the same answer twice.

I have removed your duplicate post and lefy this one here as it seemed the best forum for this question. Hope you get the answer you require.

Tonnyrat

Forget the codecs, they are not involved when running via the Xbox 360.

Are you playing via a TV or Amplifier? Are you using optical or analogue RCA connectors from the Xbox? Are they ALL bad? Do they sound OK on other devices? PC? Ipod? How do they compare with other MP3/MP4s?

Are you playing the Mp3s via the MCE interface or via the Media blade? If the latter, there is a volume control in the player that isn't obvious and may be the cause of your problem. To check, go to the Music player in the media blade and use the controller to select the speaker icon in the menu above the visualiser, click A and then direction up to change the volume up.

If its low via the MCX interface this is a different problem and prbably not one I can help you with...
