Just a heads up...
it seems that all Xbox versions now have the HDMI ouput socket on the back. I exchanged my old (crash-prone) one for a new one at Electronics Boutique this afternoon through my extended warranty with them.
It seems to be much quieter too (although it's still not silent).

Could you do me a favour?
Could you please check what
1) Lot number it is (it's on the sticker on the box with the barcode)
2) What power it states it's using (Same spot. It'll either be 175w or 203w)
I'm trying to track down a 175w 360 (apparently they're falcon)...
unfortunately i don't have the box -- when you do a swap at EB, they swap the machine only, i didn't get anything else.
The only thing i can give you is the date of manufacture which is on the machine -- 2007-09-22.
I think it may be falcon simply because it's much quieter and has HDMI but i'm just hazarding a guess here...

Cool.
What about on the actual power supply brick? It should have the rated wattage on it
eek are you saying on new console you are using old power prick?
yeah. the power supply kicks out 12V and 16.5A which matches the label on the back of the xbox unit. you had me worried for a second.
I've just noticed that with this new unit, when i change channels on the tv, it resets itself. ie, playing xbox then flick over to see what's on tv, when i flick back to xbox it restarts. it must be something to do with the hdmi connection. is this normal??? it's very annoying.

Not normal - My Xbox doesn't actually boot up until it performs it's handshake on the HDMI port with my plasma (ie I have to switch to the HDMI input before it boots), but once it's booted, I can switch to the TV's internal tuner without a problem..
When you switch to TV, are you using an external tuner on another "AV" port, or are you using the TVs internal tuner? I've never actually tried switching to another AV port while my Xbox360 is on - if it shuts down the HDMI port when you switch, that might cause the Xbox to reset..
