Question Categorising DVD's in MC DVD library

I have modified my the Windows registry so that it shows all of the DVD's that I have copied to my hard drives along with their respective images - downloaded from Google Image. The DVD Library option under MC just shows them all as one continuous view.
Is there anyway to categorise the DVD's i.e. Drama, Childrens, Music etc so as to avoid having to scroll the entire library each time I am looking for something.

Re: Categorising DVD's in MC DVD library

If each directory has a dvdid.xml in it, and media center is set to retrieve additional info, it willl get extra metadata info, including covers for each DVD. Im not 100% sure if category is included, but there may be some kind of genre value.

Find them all pre-made here:

This is for Vista and W7 by the way, not sure this works with XP.

I would love a solution to this also, my DVDs are all now on the HDD and count over 100 so I would like to have them in categories also like my AVIs.

Fingers crossed!!!

Re: Categorising DVD's in MC DVD library

You guys need to look at my movies. I don't even have the VMC DVD gallery enabled as it is so much hassle to get it to look nice. My Movies does all the work for you. Downloads XML files, front cover, back cover and also creates a folder.jpg so it will work with the VMC DVD Gallery. Once you goto my movies, you will never look back. I have around 150 movies and box sets in my collection. One of the best things about it is being able to setup box sets, I have my futurama and seinfeld all setup in box sets also star wars, bourne, back to the future, aliens I can't recomend this program enough. It can also auto mount iso's and launch Powerdvd for you if you have Blurays.
