Well, thanks for nothing. I won't be recommending this site to anyone else. I had hoped to solve this issue with a little help from people who have got it to work. So much for 'media centre community', more like 'media centre, your on your own'
Geekguy
Shame you feel that way. Although your comment about "media centre, you're on your own" is way off the mark.
In your case as your issue was of a very limited nature there most likely there wasn't anyone with experience able to assist. Would you like us all to respond with "Sorry can't help"?
But if your attitude is to chuck a hissy fit when people can't help you'll find that people will be less accommodating the next time you have a problem.

Of course that's assuming he's still prepared to associate with such an unhelpful bunch...

I know when I have a big issue and it seems unique (which yours does Geek Guy) then I create a new post.
AS it stands I saw your post previously and I could not add to your commentary or the fact you had embedded album art (which would have been my only suggestion)
Thanks for replying to the post. Your tool does work in the final release of Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. And for the record, I did run it on the pc which i wanted to change album art on. The issue was that i downloaded the file and extracted it on a different pc, then just copied and pasted the file to the desktop of my media centre. I don't recall seeing anything in the previous posts which said anything about needing to extract the application on the media centre you want to change, which of course is where the whole thing went pear shaped for me. Now that I have posted the solution to my issue, hopefully no-one else will make the same mistake.

Would I have appreciated a post saying can't help ... Yes I would, at least I would know that someone had read the thread, and that might even help it stay on top of the list until a solution is found.

I am sure, like most people, I signed up to the forum to both learn and contribute from the Australian Media Centre Community. Other forums I have joined encourage their members to post questions relating to a particular topic, in the thread which raised the topic, hence me digging up this old thread after using the search tool.
I am also sure that most people would be a little annoyed if they could not get any helpful feedback after 6 weeks, considering so many people had had little or no problem using the tool. I finally discovered a solution myself after a further 4 weeks. So my comments about being on your own ... would you feel as though you were being supported / helped if no help came after 10 weeks of requesting help and you found a solution yourself?
Yeah it was a hissy fit, but in my experience, i had no reason to believe that many people would read it anyway.
I do find it remarkable that weeks after I gave my rant, you have both decided to post a reply to that part, rather than the actual problem. Thanks a lot. Maybe as moderators you could have replied sooner and offered some helpful advise, like 'If the reports says it has successfully copied the files, go looking for the actual location of those files, they may not be copied to the correct spot.' or 'try downloading and extracting the tool on your media centre.' Those types of responses would have been appreciated, but you both chose not to respond until a criticism was made.
I don't want this to turn into a flame war, but I think you are both wrong and have not set a good example for the rest of the community you serve.

As a moderator (Mike owns and runs the site) I'm neither omnipotent nor omnipresent. I cannot read all the threads, let alone answer all the questions. In fact I've never used this application and therefore wouldn't know where to start with your issue.
I find your accusation that both Mike and I deliberately chose to ignore your posts incredibly offensive given the assistance that both Mike and myself have endeavoured to provide users over the years.

When receiving help from a community, as opposed to a vendor, this is part of the package. Sometimes things work out, sometimes it doesn't. Ultimnately, if a solution isn't arrived upon, it's not the community's fault!
Part of the HTPC experience is fiddling on such little tweaks, getting stuck, forgetting about it, remembering and then figuring it out after 2 months
I think many of us enjoy this because we like tinkering, or the challenge of learning by problem solving. Some are perhaps trying to escape from a demanding Trophy Wife, and others are simply irreconcilable geeks(*points at Linux people*)
This is the price of having such a versatile device. For everyone else, there is the PS3 and TiVO etc.
