Talking New MCE Video Playlist Editor

I've been annoyed at the fact that you couldn't apply playlists to video clips (music videos in my case), so I created a simple app in VB.NET to create wvx playlists for MCE.

Just remember to save the wvx file within the path for "My Videos" within MCE.
Personally I have created a Playlist directory where I keep my wvx files.

Then just navigate through My Videos in MCE to the playlist file.

I know it's not within the MCE interface but maybe I'll tackle that in a few months when I get some more time. But hey, it's FREEWARE and it works!

Re: New MCE Video Playlist Editor

DrP,

Gave it a whirl. Does a similar job to using WMP10 and creating .asx playlist files. I also use BaldGorilla's ASX maker - nice n quick, with drop and drag file usage and randomiser.

If you looking at future expansion of the APP a couple of suggestions (wish list) for DrP's VPE
- to be able to lookup sub directories and grab all video files, instead of adding individual files - I have my my music clips stored \ my music clips\artist\ songs.avi
- have a random playlist generator button for mixing it up.

Good job, these addons keep getting better n better

Re: New MCE Video Playlist Editor

has anyone used this to build a playlist from network attached files? I have the folders mapped and pick my video files from those drives, but when I try play the playlist it closes media center. I'm also running windows vista.

Re: New MCE Video Playlist Editor

Quite a nice app. Easy to use so even the wife might be able to generate playlists.

One little improvment would be the ability to open a playlist and modify it, so new videos can be added as the become available.
