iViewWMC "test version" has been updated to version 0.2.3
You can download the update from here:
http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...do=file&id=242
If you use 0.1.5, please see the comparison at the bottom of this post.
Description
- This version of iViewWMC installs an icon into Media Center, in the "Extras Library", titled "iViewWMC". When selected, iViewWMC displays iView.
- At this stage, you need a mouse. The remote control will be supported in an upcoming release.
- I suggest you go into the iView options, and set fullscreen to "Manual". iViewWMC displays iView in fullscreen anyway, if you have Media Center in fullscreen mode.
Requirements
- You must be using Windows 7. If you use Windows Vista, let me know, and I will look into making this compatible with Vista.
- A Mouse - iViewWMC 0.2.3 does not use the remote yet. You will need a mouse.
- Flash Player for Internet Explorer - Even if you have Internet Explorer disabled, Windows Media Center uses the IE rendering engine when displaying iView, and iView needs Flash Player.

Updating from a previous 0.2.x version
This version should automatically remove the old version when you start installing this version. Or, you can uninstall the old version first, then install this version.
Updating from 0.1.5 (or older)
If you want to upgrade from 0.1.x to this version, please see the comparison at the bottom of this post. If you still want to remove 0.1.x, start by removing the iViewWMC icon from Windows Media Center (using Media Center Studio). Then delete the "C:/iView/" folder and everything inside it. Then install this version.
Comparison between 0.1.5 and 0.2.3
- 0.1.5 does not integrate with Media Center, but 0.2.3 does.
- 0.1.5 is harder to set up, and is buggy, but 0.2.3 is easy to set up and is quite stable.
- 0.1.5 allows a 'custom channel', but 0.2.3 does not.
- 0.1.5 needs a loading time before it starts, but 0.2.3 does not.
- 0.1.5 can use your remote, if you can figure out how to set it up, but 0.2.3 needs a mouse.
- 0.1.5 shows only a few 'channels', but 0.2.3 shows exactly what iView shows.
- 0.1.5 tries to use a Media Center styled menu, but 0.2.3 is the proper iView menu.
- The 0.1.x branch is being phased out, to be replaced by the 0.2.x branch.
