Great!
The telemetry is just bottled data. Its not meant to match the cars in this test mode.

Re: V8 supercar broadband plugin???
well done DrMiaow
finally got it up and running looks good.
I take it the test mode only had the 300k stream???
But i did still have some problems with it.
I dont want to be to picky about it though.
I'm unable to adjust the volume at all.
Also there is a white border around the picture.(that sort of stuff starts to kill the plamsa screen after a while. If that could be changed to black would be good.
When hoping in and out of the stream,,for EG going back to tv it starts the stream again and you have two of them going at the same time.also the stream continues while your watching the tv channel,,You can still hear the audio from the stream.
One last thing, any way of getting rid of the window in the top right hand corner that displays the tv that was playing before gogin to the stream?
But maybe all these issues are due to the test stream?
By the way great job I'm sure it can only get better from here.
Is your company working on a NRL one as well yet?

Re: V8 supercar broadband plugin???
worked fine for me DrMiaow - great work. Nice touch being able to watch ch.10 and bigpond at the same time.
Mr2psht - press the < button on the remote to toggle theTV window.
As an idea for a future update - a way to view the archived footage on the web-site would be useful.
Cheers and Thanks for the effort.

Re: V8 supercar broadband plugin???
yeah tried all that AshW.
seemed to me the remote had very little functions working in there.
it might have to do with the test stream though.
I dont know

Re: V8 supercar broadband plugin???
Great feedback from everyone! TA!
I have left the test running. It will go on until midnight unless someone turns off the test stream
Yes we are limited to the 380k stream for this test run.I take it the test mode only had the 300k stream???
Looks like it crept in after some recent changes. Very odd, will try and get to the bottom of that. Also there is a white border around the picture.(that sort of stuff starts to kill the plamsa screen after a while. If that could be changed to black would be good.
Very strange, on my remote the volume control works fine. Is there anything special about your remote?I'm unable to adjust the volume at all.
Yes I have noticed that you get that if you turn the TV on and off very quickly (rapidly pressing left arrow on remote) . Fixed by simply turning TV off and on again. Its defntly a bug though - hoping to fix it soon. When hoping in and out of the stream,,for EG going back to tv it starts the stream again and you have two of them going at the same time.also the stream continues while your watching the tv channel,,You can still hear the audio from the stream.
Not at the moment - but thats a good suggestion. Could in theory allow you to move the TV around the screen into the 4 corners or change the size as well?"Is it possible when watching tv in the minimised window to move it around so it doesn't cover the race (fixed in top left of screen)."
Next time you watch it and have chan 10 and the stream showing a race, try pressing '0'Nice touch being able to watch ch.10 and bigpond at the same time.![]()

Re: V8 supercar broadband plugin???
Some of us have to work (so you may ask what I'm doing on here!).
I have access to the bigpond site from work so no drama about watching from the bigpong site though..![]()

Re: V8 supercar broadband plugin???
Hi There,
Great Work DrMiaow!!
Excellent plugin! Thanks for putting in the hard yards.
I've Got a couple of questions:
1. Video seems to take forever to buffer and quality is very average on a normal sized pc monitor. I have problems with viewing V8supercars normally through my browser, so I'm guessing the plugin downgrades the stream kbits just like the website?
2. I'm on bigpond cable (10mbit down) so I shouldn't have a problem with viewing the highest kbit stream available. I'm behind a hardware firewall, does v8supercars use certain ports that I should have forwarded? If so, can you tell me what ports to forward?
3. At the moment you don't need to have bigpond as your isp to use the plugin, right? do you know, will this continue? Or will it be subscription based one day?
Cheers.

Ta!Great Work DrMiaow!!

It will try and stream at the rate you select in setup, you should also make sure that in your "Windows Media Player" setup that your network speed is set correctly ("Detect" is normally ok) and that you allow the MMS protocol.I've Got a couple of questions:
1. Video seems to take forever to buffer and quality is very average on a normal sized pc monitor. I have problems with viewing V8supercars normally through my browser, so I'm guessing the plugin downgrades the stream kbits just like the website?
You can do this this in Tools->Options and then visit both the Network and Performance Tabs to set the protocol and connection speed.
If your network loses packets it will degrade the video all the way down to keyframes and then sound only.
Yes - it uses port 1755 MMS and TCP/IP2. I'm on bigpond cable (10mbit down) so I shouldn't have a problem with viewing the highest kbit stream available. I'm behind a hardware firewall, does v8supercars use certain ports that I should have forwarded? If so, can you tell me what ports to forward?
I will ask about this one.3. At the moment you don't need to have bigpond as your isp to use the plugin, right? do you know, will this continue? Or will it be subscription based one day?

Re: V8 supercar broadband plugin???
Anyone who was watching today - because of a technical issue at the track, the Video to dashboard telemetry syncronisation was out by 1 second.
Its been resolved for tomorrows two races.

Thanks for the info, DrMiaow.Originally Posted by DrMiaow

.
If anyone else has a problem with video quality with the plugin, let port 1755 through, it'll work wonders! lol.
Cheers.
P.S. I have to say it again. Hands down best media center online spotlight plugin ever!! It freaking rocks!! MTV overdrive ain't got nothing on it.
