Avast antivirus

Hi,

I use AVast antivirur (free) for the PCs in my house. I have just installed WHS and it won't work. Does anyone know how I can get it to work or an alternative Free/cheap antivirus for WHS.

Glen

Re: Avast antivirus

Hi Glen,

Did you try the Avast beta version for WHS or one of the regular versions?

I've had no problems with it so far. If you haven't got it already you can grab it from here

Cheers.

Matt

Re: Avast antivirus

I only stumbled onto it myself by accident. Seems pretty good, centralised management, deployment of updates from WHS, logging etc..

Cheers,

Matt.

Re: Avast antivirus

Do you know if the release version is planned to be free?

Re: Avast antivirus

It looks like there will be a charge for the WHS component, but it will control the free version on your desktops/laptops so that will keep the cost down at least.

Cheers,

Matt.
