The Windows Home Server Toolkit is available, and I highly recomend it to all those that love tinkering.
The three standout features are :-
1) You can change the number of days the backup can be missed before you get a yellow or red notification - great for those with laptops etc.
2) Access to the logs from the console
3) Access to log of Remote access logins on you server.
