Where to buy Windows Home Server

As it looks like I won't be getting WHS through my MSDN or MAPS subscriptions, does anyone know where to buy a copy. It looks like its about to hit the OEM shelves any day now but none of my usual suppliers seem to be listing it yet.

Re: Where to buy Windows Home Server

Hey Shan,

It looks like EYO's dropshipping site has it listed with an arrival date of the 18th of August.

Try this link:

This site indicates that HP's windows home server product will be available (at least in the US) from the 15th September.

Re: Where to buy Windows Home Server

I finally got my copy yesterday

I think Im going to blow away the beta, not even going to attempt a upgrade irrespective of the absolute PAIN in the A$$ it is to move data around before a rebuild. Especially 2.5TB's grrrr

This damn thing better be as stable as my love for booze, otherwise its gonna be hammertime with the DVD!!!

Odd, I can't find it listed at Altech Perth. Might give them a call and see what's up.

Re: Where to buy Windows Home Server

Cracking on for $250, I need a new PC anyway, the machine I'm running the RTM on is an old dog. Think I might hang on for the HP unit.

Not looking forward to migrating data from the RTM box. I let it install with the default name (\\server) and I'm assuming the retail version will want to default to the same name. Then there's the shifting of the domain name from livenode which is automated for an in place upgrade but I bet it bombs moving to another box, even if it is supposed to be tied to my Live account.

Re: Where to buy Windows Home Server

Has there been any word if Beta testers get a free copy of it?

Or at least those that submitted bugs like with the Vista beta?

I can finally order it from my supplier, but it would obviously be a waste of money if there is a free version headed my way...

Re: Where to buy Windows Home Server

Nope dont think so. WHS forums seem to indicate this wont be happening. I ended up just caving in and purchasing it.
