Network Health Critical - need help!

Hi I have had a Critical Health icon for the past couple of days. The notice states: A possible database consistency problem has been detected in the database.
There were no solutions offered and I don't understand what this means. The daily backups have still been happening.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi saxnix,

Apparently this problem can usually be fixed by running a manual backup, marking it for deletion, and then manually running 'cleanup now'.

In case this doesn't work for you, you can also go here for a step-by-step guide to fixing this issue.

Hope this helps.

Relmz.

Hi Relmz

Thanks for the info and link. I tried to do your suggestions, but the manual cleanup didn't work. I have tried to run it 3 times and each time it starts, it runs for about 30 seconds and then stops - no activity on the hard drive, and the % counter in the bottom right of the screen disappears. It shows that it is working in the backup progress but without any progress at all. While running it states that it may take hours, but even after leaving it all night, there still was no progress.

I guess I will try the steps in the links.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction

Greg

Before you do all the steps just do steps 4/5/6 as suggested in one of the posts. I had exactly the same issue and those 3 steps fixed it. I was then left with no backups but the following evening the backups went ok and all is running smoothly again.
I've heard that this issue is resolved in the final release.

Hi Mysteron

Yeah, thankfully I had read some of the posts following the instructions in the link and tried steps 4, 5 & 6 and it did the trick. The only slight problem I had was that I didn't realise that I had to reestablish my rules (which drives/folders to exclude), and couldn't work out why it was taking over an hour to backup 1%. It was obviously trying to backup my movie collection that is normally excluded. I cancelled it, and then re ran it with the exclusions and it has now been working fine for the past couple of days.

Thanks to both of you for help fixing the problem

Greg

Re: Network Health Critical - need help!

Just remember that this "fix" doesn't guarantee that it won't happen again. I know as I've just suffered a second occurance. The steps fixed it again but it's damn annoying to lose all your backups and have to start again. As stated before the retail version is supposed to solve this problem. Can't come quick enough for me.
