WHS Startup disk

Hi all,

Just starting to play with WHS. I am signed up for the RC evaluation but have been having some difficulty creating a bootup disk. I have made the disks by double clicking on the "installation DVD" image file. This starts up Nero DVD burning software that burns a DVD image. I then reboot the computer setup to boot from CD/DVD. It gets to the point where it says "Booting from ATAPI CD ..." but just stops there. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Cheers
Glen

Re: WHS Startup disk

Hi,

I normally just right click on the image file (ISO) and just select "open with" Nero Burning ROM. I also normally drop the speed back a little too.

It sounds like you managed to burn the DVD OK though.

Did you hit enter to boot from CD or DVD?

The only thing I can think of, is to just burn the DVD again, the way I suggested and select 4x speed.

Re: WHS Startup disk

Could also be a driver problem, I was beta testing WHS and while it backed up ok my pc crashed trying to use the restore disk (really handy) and many other people are having the same problem it has got something to do with using third party non-MS drivers instead of OEM drivers. Acronis does everything I need it to anyway.

cheers
