Email, power saving and WHS

A complete newbie here with WHS.
Just had WHS going for about a week, and it works really well with central storage and automatic backing up of my network computers.

I had hoped that it would offer a little more than these 2 functions.

Re Email
In particular I am hopeful that someone can help me with a way to configure WHS and my network, so that all of my email is received and stored by WHS and fully accessible throughout the network. At present I only use Outlook Express on each client, so as I use different computers, it is a problem finding stored emails. I am very naive with mail servers, so if anyone could help with a suggestion as to configure this, I would be very appreciative.

Re Power saving
I am aware that one of the major benefits of WHS is the central storage, especially if you configure WHS to use data redundancy.
However it does not seem to be a good idea to be running the WHS 24/7 due to power consumption.
Is there a way that the WHS can be put into sleep mode and awaken upon a LAN request on the network for the server. I realize that this may be a little slower due to the time taken to awaken, but in my situation that would not be a problem.

I would really appreciate any help that could be given to me!

Re: Email, power saving and WHS

Hey,
Re Email. No suggestions on WHS to solve - but the way I handle multiple pc's accessing email is to have one PC as the main email client. For all others you set the option to leave a copy of email on the server (options > e-mail settings > more settings > advanced - leave a copy on the server (or similar)). This way you always know every email will be on a particular PC.
Coma.

Re: Email, power saving and WHS

RE E-Mail : im fairly sure thats what Exchange servers are for...but not 100% sure

RE Power Saving : You should already be running the machine headless, which makes some pretty decent power savings.

Depending on your network card, you can setup Wake On LAN which can wake the PC when its off or in standby, but sometimes thats a litlte hard to setup...

at the moment, we only have our WHS system on when we use it, but i'll eventually set it up (or similar) to be on all the time...
