That's great and possibly a boon for Windows as an OS but I have to ask if that really is a feature of Vista or a downfall of all prior Windows OS's. No driver code running at dangerous kernel levels and no blue screens most probably should have been a design feature of Windows 1.0. Not 7.

Addressing those stability issues is certainly a plus but I can't for the life of me accept that the existence of those problems were ever acceptable for a world class operating system and hence cannot really be considered as a "feature" now. That is the MS way though. Selling bug fixes for poorly written code as "upgrades".

Much like with every new release they say how many instances of "requires a reboot" they have removed. Yet more than enough remain to make it an inconvenience at best and a massive annoyance for most.

I do not hesitate to shoot at any OS, Linux or Windows when I have valid reasons. I think launching a new OS to fix the errors in a previous one and charging for it is too much. Like Rick said, they should give it for free to people who have bought the previous one.

This forum is the Australia Media Center Community it says so at the top of your browser, as such it deals with Media Center's of all types, MS do not hold the entire market where that is concerned. Errr David, I think we need to chill a little here.

If you want to begin a debate about what someone with arkay's tenure is "doing in this forum" - I'd suggest that's a debate that you and I have in private because I won't allow someone else to get emotional, bordering on name calling, simply because he has a vastly different view to you or others.

This is a forum, we discuss things and we put foward our opinions about issues and anything to do with Media Center computers, we do not target the man who shares his opinions because we don't like them expressed here.

I have presided over this place for nearly 5 years, during that time I cannot count the thousands of posts made by arkay to help people get their Windows rigs up and running. If he has moved away from the Windows platform, that is his right, and he is also free to comment on it in comparison to what he is now using.

What he cannot do, and I might add would never do, is to insult you and question why "TF" you are even reading his posts if what he says is so upsetting to you.

I suggest that we remove the emotion, stay right away from playing the man and stick to the debate.

If that can't be done then use the ignore function, I'm told it works wonders.
