I withheld my original response to this thread, which was "No, Fiji is just an update to Media Center", but now I'm thinking it is Vista R2, in spirit anyway.

Just speculation but it is possible especially given the slow uptake of Vista.
The Redmond giant sent Windows Fiji RTM emails to the select pool of customers who helped nudge the product forward through development milestones. Fiji has been from the get go to the finish line a product developed under wraps at Microsoft, with little or no word of it released to the general public. Now, Windows Fiji is finalized and the gold bits ended up being labeled Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008.
"Fiji, officially known as Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008, has Released! The input from Self Host testers has been invaluable to this product and the team would like to thank each of you for your bug reports and feedback. As the release team is taking a much needed break, our next focus will be to post the final build onto the Products servers. Please check the newsgroups for updates. Once the build is live, we will notify you," reads an email from the Windows Media Center team as cited by XPMediaCentre.
Lots of stuff going around on Fiji, and while I can’t say as much as I’d like too I can say that no single person has put all the pieces together yet. Word is that Fiji final name is indeed Windows Media Center TV Pack, and useless a separate product pops up out of nowhere I’d consider that pretty concrete. Microsoft let that bit slip themselves by releasing a few knowledge base articles specifically about the TV Pack.
Engadget HD runs down what they expect to be in the update, and Brent Evans covers more of the news from a few different sources as does Mary Jo.
Now, I still can’t say much about it because of various different NDAs, but I can say there are still pieces missing from people accounts of how this is going to work and/or what is included in the update. Good or bad however, I can’t say so you will have to wait. Microsoft has hinted that the official announcement for Fiji will come at CEDIA in September. more here http://msmvps.com/blogs/chrisl/archi...8/1641397.aspx
Got any spare tickets for an xpmediacentre.com.au reporter? I mean we do want to get our facts straight and would be great to get face to face with the guys behind this mysteriously shrowded update, maybe just for the 9(?)-th? at least
Good Morning guys, there has been another article on Engadget HD about it, there have been download links in the comments section, one of which I will post here

I must warn you, I have not and can not test this file because i am running XP Media Center, so if you do it make sure you have a way of taking it all back, although it's 40MB and labelled with the correct KB number I'm not really sure this is the correct file, although there has been confirmation it's the correct file because the checksum's match between the original file and this
On top of that, these are the instructions to installing that file, which I will also post here (from a tester who commented on Engadget HD)
Here are the instructions
Vista Service Pack 1 must be Premium or Ultimate
Following the Vista install, do not launch Windows Media Center or go through Windows Media Center Setup
Install Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008
Install the PlayReady PC Runtime
PlayReady PC Runtime (x86) - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
PlayReady PC Runtime (x64) -www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ec9ac8f4-6209-4aea-a302-d9f33a7d4f64&DisplayLang=en
Install
KB951685 (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/951685) -
KB950754 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950754) -
Install Windows Updates
Go through Windows Media Center Setup
If your wondering, it must be a fresh install as the people on Engadget HD and others have learnt
Good luck with it all if you decide to go through it, it looks very complicated and maybe a little risky, perhaps do it on a spare partition?
This is the link to the article (it's hands-on impressions)
Logifuse, whilst it is not officially released I am supprised that you have deleted the link considering that over at tgb (owned by microsoft) they have not pulled the link and have even made a comment about leaving it there.

you will also notice Jeff Tuckers response about the link and that he is not pulling it from the site.
here is the link that was in the first post removed by the moderators of this site, I do not see any reason to remove it from here if the link is available at tgb. EDIT - Link removed by Mike - see below
I haven't personally confirmed that its the real thing. But I assume it is.
I cant comment on Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008 until after Sept 3rd.
I am certainly interested in how it works for you guys in Australia (terrestrial) and New Zealand (satellite).
No need to personally confirm Mike I think we appreciate where you are coming from. Hopefully after the "official release" you will be able to assist with injecting XML data into the guide.

I could say that it will leave Aussies up excrement creek sans paddle until outside guide support comes online, & I could say that it will leave Kiwis unable to even find the creek as no h.264 means no Edit: freeview HD - sorry Mike (Freeview satellite will interesting, but I wonder how useful it will be once Freeview HD becomes the norm?), but I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise for you Mike.
