Thumbs down Internationality

Laptops were made to travel. Mine travels a lot - northern to southern hemispheres at least four times a year. Media Centre is made to entertain - so why is it so parochial? Whose dopey idea was it lock the region after 5 switches? I want to be able to watch videos wherever I am, with the same laptop. Seems a simple and reasonable thing to expect of something that was built to be easily carried from country to country, region to region.

Re: Internationality

Region locking DVD/Blu-Ray is bad in your situation, especially when language and Region settings can be changed on the actual Laptop to work with other region/time dependant application of a laptop. There are ways around this but I agree there shouldn't have to be.

This is a big trip up for Media Center/Media Player on a laptop or portable device with a DVD drive. Anyone care to comment if the touted international support updates in 'Fiji' would rectify this situation?

Re: Internationality

Certainly agree that we shouldn't have to deal with region locking but given that we do...ANYDVD
