I asked Paul Thurrott if he knew of the rlease details (this was a few months ago) and while he didn't know but he made an educated guess that it would probably be a download for free for normal Vista
I am quite interested at the moment for this as I am planning to build a new computer (finally) and I am planning to install Vista Home Premium, and I would hate for a Vista Media Center Edition to come out after I do it <_<
New pictures and details of Fiji have been leaked onto Engagdget HD
Native h.264 support and some DirectTV HD tuner support is not included
They have changed the file format for recorded TV from DVR-MS to WTV (whatver that is)
It's expected in October according to the article and there is a good chance it will be OEM only (but chances are online retailers will have a copy of it anyway)
I'd be very surprised if it went back to an OEM product (also extremely annoyed)..... makes no sense for them to limit the release when they integrated the whole product into their OS.

Yes, it's very annoying
Especially for those of you who already have Vista and will have to buy another copy
It's only a rumour.... and there have been many in relation to Fiji.
like I said earlier, I would find it a very strange decision. I mean they seem to be in the process of making the Media Centre software more important to them.
They've just purchased thegreenbutton, I wouldn't think they'd do that and then destroy their userbase by making the Media Centre component OEM.
If it was just a DirectTV compatibility it would be sort of understandable, but with the changes for international users it would be fatal.
