Thumbs up MyTV MCE Online Edition

MyTV 1.0 version enables you to run online streaming TV directly on your Media Center and you have full control how it should looks and what channels to add using your remote control or mouse.

It basically, looks as if it is a real TV programming functionalities. Add channels, create categories for channels and add RSS feeds for all channels or for each channel separately. You can also in the near future, you even add programming guide for each channel.

You simply register for FREE to gain access to the service. After you register, login into your account at mytv.webwapsolutions.com and click on MyTV Settings in your menu on the left. A new window pops up allowing you to administrate and configure your Online MyTV account.

You must also download your MCL file and add to your media center which enables you direct access to your MyTV Online via Media Center.

Re: MyTV MCE Online Edition

Had a look at it and not really impressed with it.
I would love the ability to stream stations with ease and sorry to say this does not do that for me.
There are no pre configured stations in the settings for this and no list on the site (that i can see) with url's to these online stations.
I know its not a big deal to most, but for the noobies to online streaming this is an oversight.
Perhaps with some time there will be a list some where to make it easier for us.
Also will this plug-in stream flash based video? eg nba.
There is a heap of flash based media i would love to watch.

Re: MyTV MCE Online Edition

Are there any advantages with this software over TV Tonic? TV Tonic runs through the X Box 360 and works very well.

Lightbulb Re: MyTV MCE Online Edition

MyTV 1.0 is in beta version and its main goal to allow the user to add their own channels rather than force them to view the channels that are bundled with it.

However, lillgreen, there will be a list in the near future where users may use to add to their list so they build their own categories and channels from it. Today, it is only available to add urls to streamings.

Flash based streaming is also in "to do" list where you can add media streamings based in flash.

MyTV gives control to the users allowing them to manipulate their lists as much as they want and add rss feeds, such as news, movie gossips etc.. which is scrolled at the bottom of the screen and updates every 10mins. The update interval will also be customizable by users where they decide of often rss has to update.

any suggestions and comments are welcome :-)
