Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

VMC menus are changed and it works well. The MCE Extender Menus also changed and matched VMC.

My problem is that a subsequent Menu Mender change on VMC did not update on the Extender Menus. I also lost the "Shutdown" button on the Extender.

Is there a way to to fix this issue? Is there an Extender file that can be deleted or reset?

Thanks, mcconh

Sorry, I haven't had any reports of this before, and to be honest I can't see how Menu Mender would cause the problem you describe. By all means try uninstalling Menu Mender.

This is a bit tricky - for the movies/news/etc categories, as soon as you put something in them it shows up on the start menu. So far I haven't worked out a nice way of sorting all this out.

This may be possible (it definitely would on TV Pack 2008) but I haven't allowed for it so far - maybe in a future version.

I'm not sure why this would happen, as extenders work off the same files as the console. I also don't have an extender to test with (haven't received nearly enough donations for that!), so i'm afraid I can't even really look into it at this stage.

Unhappy Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

hi,

MC Menu Mender is for me the best MC Addon I've ever seen.

On My one Vista PC it works pretty good.

But on the other, the changin of the menu works, and new items are shown.
But if I click on a created item (for example firefox), nothing happens.

How can I solve this??

thanks,

falco953

I don't know what the problem could be - you can try sending me a support package (About->Create support package in Menu Mender) and i'll take a look.

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

I know it's a little early since it isn't supposed to be out until 2010, but any chance you plan to try making this work with Windows 7

I set up an entry point the same as you have it, and it worked fine. I did notice though that if there is already an instance of Firefox open it appears to do nothing - this is because the new Firefox process sees the one that is already open and defers to that, and shuts down immediately. Menu Mender sees the process it launched end and goes back to Media Center. Could this be the case in your... case?

Then i'm afraid I have no idea what's going on. You can try examining/launching the links manually, that might help you work out what is happening. You can find them at C:\ProgramData\MC Menu Mender BETA. Let me know if you work it out.

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Hey Advent,

If you're ever bored, do you think you could get this working on windows 7?

Just got my hands on the beta, and the new media center has got some really cool features, but no media center is complete w/o Menu Mender!

The install goes fine but when I try to open it, I get this message:

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

To be fair though.......you are really the only one needing/benefitting from the wedding, there are probably thousands of people around the world who he has made very happy with this app, and no doubt the future work for W7 compatibility .

But seriously, how long until he is sentenced....I mean tied down....I mean a ring on his finger in happy matromony?

Well, there may be thousands, but if you only consider the people who have donated, the number drops dramatically Obviously the silent majority doesn't need Menu Mender THAT badly, hey?

We haven't even gotten that far in the planning yet! Sometime in the first half of next year. But I don't expect it to dramatically affect the amount of time he has free for Menu Mender.

Re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Actually I would be courious to know how many other people actually have donated - or at least a ratio of how many downloads/donations???

Congrats on the wedding plans. Just remember to enjoy the day.
