Have you tried adding quiiq projector back to your TV + Movies strip in Menu Mender to match what VMC is showing, and then deleting it again - as per the instructions above?[/quote]
yea i keep replacing quiiq onto the tv+movies strip and saving after each attempt
I cant, i keep trying to put myTV in the tv+movies strip but it will not take whilst quiiq is installed.
Mender displays it as being right but upon entering vmc its all wrong with quiiq in the spot that i want myTV in.
Isn't there a limit of one custom tile in the built-in strips? If Quiiq is already in there, adding myTV won't work.
Well, interesting results here! I ran the app after installing and moved a couple menu strips around, changed a couple buttons, etc. and clicked save. No error message! AWESOME.
Unfortunately, when I tried to start VMC I immediately got an exception in ehshell.exe saying it had to close. I tried rebooting, but the same thing. So I went back into MC Menu Mender and simplified the menus as much as possible, but I still couldn't start VMC. So, out of desperation, I clicked the "restore defaults" button. After that VMC started fine. So I'm wondering if it's something I put in the menus maybe? I guess I can go back in and slowly add stuff one item at a time and see if I can re-start VMC after that. But at least that dreaded error popup is gone...!
I had installed My Movies 2.44 and wanted to find a way to change the name of the "my movies" tile into a more dutch "films". This app rocks! It was easy to do, only problem is, I can't save! I keep getting a looong error message. I attached the log so maybe you can fix it.
Thanks so much for this app, it's fantastic!
* Also tried other things then renaming the MM tile. I simply can't save. Whatever do. Hope to see a reply from you soon. Thanks for the effort!

Same Problem here ..... save button works without the error message .... but MCE won't run... as soon as i save with any form of modified menu, MCE stops working .... tried to remove single items to figure out which item caused the prob..... but no luck.... even if i just remove one item and add it again, to save with MC menu mender default setup it doesn't work!!!

i just saw a strange thing ..... i tried, in my eager to make it work, to add a custom menu strip, and saved it .... then ofcourse MCE stopped working .... i then pushed restore default, to restore MCE and the menus ... but the custom menu strip stayed?? .... i tried to enter MCE ... no custom menu strip there....???? ... closed MC menu mender .... started it again.... and the custom menu strip was still there ..... but still not in MCE??? could this maby be relatied to the prob??? or is it just a buggy??

I'm guessing that error (De aanvraag wordt niet ondersteund) translates to "The request is not supported"? I'm aware of this, but it is difficult for me to fix as it is related to the language version of Windows you're using.

Have you moved any built in links to other strips? If you move a built in link to a strip that is further up the list than the strip it was originally on, VMC will crash. This is an unavoidable limitation of the way VMC loads the menus and has been mentioned many times in this thread.
If you're not doing that, could you please provide a detailed list of exactly what you're doing to make VMC crash?

As above... are you moving links between strips? If not, please provide a detailed description of the simplest way you can make VMC crash.

The restore defaults button only restores changes to the VMC files, not to the registry. Not sure about the custom strip - that should work fine.

So if I install an english language pack? Would that make it possible and keep the changes after I change back to dutch?
Anyway, I already renamed the icon by changing it in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Extensibility\Categories\Services\Tv\{b0905 d9b-6e1e-4052-b4c8-a37e6d04ba9d} there was a little thing called "title" and i just changed "my movies" into "films" and it was the way i like it!
I also changed the My Movies icon by changing the "ImageURL" also located in the Register adress mentioned above. But does anybody know how to create this rollover images that all the other standard Media Centre tiles have? Cause I'd like to make the My Movies icon a little more MCE style-ish. If I figure it out I'll let you know!

Yes, it might work if you install an english language pack - but it might be easier if you just wait until I figure out how to make it work
You can't make the icons for addins look like the standard menu icons - the best you can do is provide a custom image for when it is inactive, rather than having VMC generate it itself. You can do this by specifying an InactiveImageURL as well as an ImageURL value.
The only change in this version is that I have added the option to create a support package. This contains information that will help me diagnose any problems - it contains dumps of some VMC registry keys, some resources from ehres.dll, the Menu Mender log file, and some other information (mostly to do with language settings).
If you run into any problems or inconsistencies using Menu Mender, then you should:
Make sure your system is in a state in which the error/inconsistency is reproducable.
Launch Menu Mender.
Click on the "About..." link in the bottom right corner of the window.
Click on the "Create support package..." link towards the bottom of the about window.
Wait while Menu Mender creates the support package. When it is complete, a message box will tell you the name of the file that was created and give you the option of opening the containing folder in windows explorer.
Post here or PM me, attaching the support package file.
The file is just a zip file, so you can take a look in it yourself if you're interested.
If someone that is getting the "Request not supported" error could install this version and create a support package for me, I should be able to resolve the error for the next version.
The HKEY_USERS\S-... key is the same as the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key (at least, the HKY_CURRENT_USER key always points to the relevant key under HKEY_USERS - there is one subkey for each user). Menu Mender should detect addins installed under this key now (it didn't when samw97 had his problem). I would be interested in seeing an export of the following registry keys, if you can be bothered: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Media Center HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center
Not sure if you still want these: Password = sharp2008 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Media Centerhttp://clip2net.com/page/m7068/174122
