Resolution reset when exiting VMC

For the last couple of weeks Windows has been resetting the resolution outside of VMC to the lowest setting (800x600) upon exiting. I havn't been able to figure out what's causing this so now I turn to the experts (you). Have any of you encountered this problem? It only seems to happen when the computer has been left running VMC over night and such. So something happens when the computer wakes up from idle, I guess. Any idéas? Thanks!
