Stop Guide Error Message "The guide cannot update"

I have been having problems with my internet connection lately and so my EPG guide cannot update.

So I get an error message come up "Guide Error. Guide cannot update". I have used a tool to set the update to once a day at 6pm but still the message comes up at other times and I want to turn it off. It is annoying and sometimes the message will cause my screen to go blank as well.

Can anyone help?

Hincho.
