VISTA MCE - XBOX 360 strange connection problems

I'm having a recent strange problem connecting from my XBOX 360 to my Vista Ultimate MCE that had previously been working flawlessly for 10 months.

The sympton is that when I turn on the XBOX it starts up in Media Centre mode and shows the Vista Media centre main menu as usual. I can select Recorded TV and it will show the contents and let me select any entry to see the details but when I click on "Play" to see the recording I get a long delay and then a Firewall error message and the recording fails to play.

All I can remember changing was downloading the DIVX update on the XBOX to play some videos and enabling the XBOX access via Windows Media Player to see the DIVX folders. The DIVX playback now works fine, it's just that I can no longer view recorded shows. I can still even set recordings from the XBOX just not view the results. If I transcode the Media centre file and put it with the DIVX files I can play it without problem.

I reverted the Windows Media Player changes. I also uninstalled my anti-virus just to rule that out as well as disabling Windows firewall. Still no change. I have deleted the XBOX extender and re-done the setup from start several times now and still no luck. I checked the firewall port settings against the Microsoft Knowledge base article and they all looked fine.

Anyone have any similar experience as I have run out of ideas?
